Overview

Open Agents, Websites to see the selected client's websites. Opening a SalesHive-hosted website shows its name, address and status at the top, with a left sidebar in four groups: Workspace (Chat), Performance (Overview, plus SEO, Social and Advertising when reports are connected), Content (Content, Pages, Landing Pages, Blog, Glossary, Page SEO and Media) and Manage (Connections). It opens on Performance, Overview. Chat is your private editing conversation for that website: describe a change and the agent works on that exact website using its normal drafts and publishing rules. Each tool keeps its own access rules. When Connectors has a website address that no hosted website uses, the library also lists it as an Existing website that opens its Performance reports. The client's first hosted website is its original website. Connect an existing website opens provider setup for a site hosted elsewhere.

How to use this page

  1. Find a website

If you work across clients, select the client first. The library lists each website with its Name, Status (Published, Draft or Existing website), Content (page, article and entry counts), Updated date and Actions. Select a name or Open to manage it, or View live to open a published website in a new tab. On a phone, each website shows as a card with its content and Updated date under the name, and Open and View live as links below.

  2. Check a website's performance

Open a website; it starts on Performance, Overview. Choose Overview, SEO, Social or Advertising in the sidebar, then 7, 28 or 90 days in the report; the period stays the same when you switch reports. Reports appear only when the website's address matches the website configured in Connectors; otherwise only Overview is listed, with Connect website. An Existing website shows only the Workspace, Performance and Manage groups. The Performance guide explains each report.

  3. Create a website

Select New website and enter a Name. Website address fills in from it and becomes your-address.sites.saleshive.com; to change it, open More options and use 3 to 63 lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens. Select Create website. The website is created as a private draft with a starter Home page and opens on Chat so you can describe what you want. Cancel closes the form.

  4. Change a website through Chat

Open a website and choose Chat under Workspace. Describe what you want to change, or attach a design reference, and select Send. The agent works only on the website you opened, keeps drafts and undo, and tells you what it saved and whether it is live. Chat opens on a fresh conversation each time you visit; a conversation is saved in Projects once you send it, and Open in Projects at the top reopens it there. New chat starts another fresh one. Ask it to use an image on this client's Files tab, such as one it generated, and it adds the image to the website's Media. An Existing website also has Chat, where the agent works through that website's connector.

  5. Review a website's pages

Inside a website, the header shows its name, address and Published or Private draft. Choose Pages in the sidebar to list its pages with their Page, Path and Status; published paths link to the live page when the website is published. View website opens a published website in a new tab. Select Websites at the top of the sidebar to return to the library. On a narrow window or phone, the sidebar becomes a section menu beside Websites.

  6. Set up a content type

Choose Content in the sidebar and select New content type, or Add Blog for a ready-made Blog type. Enter Type name, Singular name and Type key (the key locks after the first save). Use Add field to set each field's Label, Field key, format and whether it is Required when publishing; groups and repeating groups hold their own fields. To group entries, open Categories and category pages, select Add category, and enter a Category name, Category key and Category URL path, plus an optional description, SEO title and meta description. Choose whether search engines may index the type, then Save draft. To change the shared design's layout, field placement or SEO defaults, use Edit design with chat. The design can repeat a section once for each item an entry saves in a repeating group.

  7. Add and publish entries

In Content, choose a type in the content type menu, then select New entry, or open an entry from the list by its title. Enter Title, URL path (locked after the first save), Summary and the type's own fields. Under Categories, tick every category the entry belongs to, or leave them all unticked; the entry is listed on each of its category pages. If the type has no categories set up, type a category instead. Open Search and sharing to set an SEO title, meta description or share image; blank fields use the type's defaults. Select Save draft, then Publish saved version. Unpublish, Archive and Restore also act on the saved version, so save first. Version history lists recent changes with Undo.

  8. Prepare a landing page draft

Choose Landing Pages in the sidebar, or select Create landing page on Pages. Select New page draft or reopen a saved page. Enter Page title, Page path, Heading and Page copy, choose an optional website image and description, and set the lead-form wording. Review Private content preview and Draft requirements, then Save private draft. Saving does not publish.

  9. Publish a reviewed page when available

After saving, select Publish saved page and confirm Publish page. This requires publishing enabled for your account and a live website. Publication does not add a navigation link. Undo publication returns an unchanged published page to private when available. If a change is unconfirmed, reload the saved page before trying again.

  10. Manage blog posts and glossary terms

Choose Blog or Glossary in the sidebar; each opens under its own heading, with a use Chat link to have an agent draft items. Search the list when the search control appears, then open a row or select New post or New term. Enter the title, category, excerpt or short definition, Body (HTML), SEO title and description. Choose Published only when ready, then Save. Existing slugs are locked. Use the row controls to edit, publish, unpublish or view a live item.

  11. Edit page metadata

Choose Page SEO and use Filter pages. Expand an editable row to change its Title tag, Meta description and, except on categories, Social share image URL. Review the search preview and character guidance, then Save. Content entries and categories show Save draft instead; publish them with Review in Content. Blank title or description uses defaults; read-only rows cannot be edited.

  12. Manage website images

Choose Media. Search by filename or alt text, select Upload images to add files, or use Copy URL and Open full size on an existing image. Use Previous and Next when the library has multiple pages.

Common questions

A hosted website must exist. Content and Landing Pages also require the appropriate administrator role and Inbound and Deals access. Other sections use Inbound access and the selected website. Ask your SalesHive team if setup is missing.
Reports belong to the one website address set in Connectors. A hosted website shows them only when its custom domain or sites.saleshive.com address matches that address; a leading www is ignored. Other hosted websites show Connect website instead.
These actions use the saved version, so select Save draft first. If a change could not be confirmed, select Reload saved content and check the result before trying again. Archived items are read-only until you Restore them.
Your SalesHive team can move a page, blog post or glossary term into a content type. It keeps its URL path, title and SEO, and from then on you edit it as an entry in Content. A private draft moves as a draft entry. A public one moves as a published entry in the same step, so its URL stays live. A moved page no longer appears in Pages or Landing Pages, and a moved post or term no longer appears in Blog or Glossary. In Page SEO it is listed under its content type instead. The original is kept. To move it back, open Version history in Content and select Undo on its Adopted page or Adopted article change. The URL then returns to the original. Undo works only while the original and the entry are unchanged since the move, and a newly created entry is archived.
Each category on a published content type gets a public page at its Category URL path. It lists that category's published entries, newest first, 24 per page, with further pages at the same path plus /page/2 and so on. Published entries link to their category page. A category page with no published entries is hidden from search engines.
Yes. An industry, vendor or case study directory section can take its cards from one published content type instead of cards typed in by hand. Ask in Chat to connect it. Only published entries of that type appear, and their URL paths must sit under the directory address; a case study directory can also sit at the website root and list top-level addresses. Industry and vendor directories sort A to Z, category filters follow the type category order, and an entry in several categories shows under each one. Case study directories follow each entry's position number, then title, show its results exactly as saved, and can show an image on each card. Drafts and archived entries stay off the live directory.
Besides directories, Chat can add a contact card with a Save to Contacts download (a vCard) plus Call and Email links, an embedded scheduling page from your own booking provider, a map of an address with a Get directions link, expandable cards that open from a short summary to more detail and links, tabbed panels that can include Previous and Next buttons with a step count, a slideshow of report images with numbered highlights that pauses when a visitor hovers over it or moves into it with the keyboard, a scored self-assessment, a study library with search, a quiz and an acronym matching game,, a downtime cost calculator, and a timed redirect that sends visitors to a page on your site or an https address after 1 to 60 seconds (10 by default), with an optional countdown number, for example on a thank-you page. The redirect does not move you away from the editor preview. Describe what you want in Chat and the agent fills it with your own content.
Yes. A published entry whose URL path starts with blog/ or glossary/ is listed on the live website's Blog or Glossary index, next to the posts and terms you manage under Blog and Glossary in the sidebar. Blog lists newest first, by original date when one is set; Glossary lists A to Z. The ready-made Blog type also shows its author, date and featured image on that index.
Once a type is published, its categories keep their URL paths so existing links keep working. You cannot change a published category's URL path or remove it; ask your SalesHive team if one needs to move. A new category's path must use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, and cannot overlap another category, page, entry or redirect on the website.
Performance now lives inside each website. Open Agents, Websites and open the website, or the Existing website row for a site hosted elsewhere. Old Performance links open Performance in the matching website.
They moved to the left sidebar: Chat under Workspace, reports under Performance, website tools under Content and Connections under Manage. On a narrow window or phone, choose a section from the menu at the top instead.
No. Page SEO edits titles and descriptions on your hosted site. SEO under Performance shows search visibility, page traffic and sampled ranking keywords.
Landing Pages inside a website edits that website's hosted landing-page drafts. Tools, Landing Pages is the separate campaign landing-page tool.
Yes. The former inbound Pages, Blog, Glossary, SEO and Media links, and older Custom Websites tab links, open that section of the client's original website.
A Client Admin for the selected client, or an authorized SalesHive administrator. Your agent can also propose a new private draft website; it is created only after that proposal is approved. New websites start as private drafts and show Draft until published.
Addresses need 3 to 63 lowercase letters, numbers and single hyphens, and must be unused across SalesHive-hosted websites. If the address is taken, choose another.
Yes. Open that website and use its Chat, and the agent works only on that website. In your other agent chats, the agent can list this client's websites and work on the one you name; if you do not name one, it uses the original website.
By default, no. Agents working without a person in the conversation, such as scheduled projects, save website changes as drafts. To let this client's agents publish on their own, ask in the website's Chat to turn agent publishing on, and ask again to turn it off. Every change stays logged with undo. Deleting pages, posts, terms or products, and taking the whole website online or offline, still need a person in the chat.
Only you. Your website editing conversations are private to you and saved in Projects after you send them; to return to an earlier one, open it from Projects. The website's saved content, drafts and publication are shared as usual.
